Kanya are excited to announce that they will be attending the Robotics and Automation Show 2018. Held at Milton Keynes from the 10-11th October, it is the companys’ first participation at this event.

Bringing with them to stand 624 will be an example of a robotic enclosure. Infact not just an example, but a real live project produced for clients Fanuc UK earlier in the year. It is a great example of how the Kanya aluminium profile system can be used to build enclosures for your equipment. Kanya UK provides a free design service, so you will be able to visualise your enclosure immediately, ensuring your equipment fits.

Our Kanya Product Specialists will be on hand to ask questions about the enclosure, demonstrate the qualities of the Kanya profile system and show examples of the many other applications possible.

We look forward to seeing you at stand 624 from the 10-11th October.

Kanya UK love to receive client feedback, and particularly when there is an unusual application to talk about. So we were delighted to receive photos of designer furniture creations (above) from client Tino Seubert.

Tino Seubert is a German born product designer based in London. His love of history and contemporary art are his inspiration in addition to his passion for material research and science. Using contrasting materials, Tino has created a new furniture series for his exhibition “Giles Round: the Director” at Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield. The furniture, consisting of stools and benches, marries the Kanya profile system, which has been anodised, with hand-woven wicker and rush seagrass. The result is the industrial open framework with warm, organic seating material.

And as well as great photos, great feedback was received too!

“Thanks again for your quick help with the last project. The pieces came out very well and are well received…I will definately be producing more of them”.

Just another application from Kanya UK.

This month has kicked off in style for Kanya UK, as we catch up with projects in the factory this month in July.

Taking up a large area of the factory floor for the first week of July were two test rigs (above). These are replica labcars, which have been constructed using the Kanya aluminium profile system.  The cars are to be delivered fully assembled with all the panels and heavy duty wheels so that they can be moved around easily.  The client, a leading motor company, will then be using these to test and implement electrical systems.

Meanwhile, a set of four assembly benches (below) have been manufactured for a leading supplier of plant and equipment for plant and process industries. The four workbenches are constructed using Kanya as its framework, with electric height adjustable legs, power supplies, CPU holder, overhead LED panel lighting, Novus monitor mounts and a pull-out keyboard tray.

Finally, two pressure test rigs have been constructed in the factory, demonstrated by one our Kanya team. A full design service was provided by Kanya UK, including 3D renders. The resulting test rig is built on wheels and clad to the client’s specific requirements. Vented doors at the front and sides of each unit allow access to the PC tower inside, as well as compete electronics enclosure, with access doors. Each unit is designed for an operator to be stood, with the correct viewing angle for display monitor mounted within the unit.

Kanya UK have a couple of latest announcements to make.

Firstly, we have changed our email address for all your Kanya enquiries, orders and queries, so please contact us at info@kanya-uk.co.uk.

Our sales team too have new email addresses, but don’t worry, you can still contact them on their old email addresses and they will provide their new contact details.

As well as new email addresses, we will be publishing regular newsletters, which aim to bring you the latest news from Kanya UK, as well as the latest applications for your inspiration. Here is a sample of our newsletter content…

“During May, the Kanya team were busy building enclosures. This particular enclosure (below) is a press guard with a lifting front door section which operates on a counter balance system. The project has been supplied as a kit of parts, so to test the structure, the press guard is firstly assembled by Kanya UK in the factor, before being dismantled and flat-packed, ready for dispatch”.

Watch our short video featuring the final assembly and testing of the press guard.

Last week, Kanya UK exhibited at the Mach Show, held at the NEC Birmingham. Being our first time exhibiting at this event, and at short notice, we took up the challenge, joining the other 600 companies exhibiting there. What a show it turned out to be! Here are our Mach Show 2018 Highlights.

Spread over 5 days, there was something for anyone interested in manufacturing. The event was reported to have been attended by over 25,000 visitors in the previous event in 2016, and visitor numbers were set to top that.

Some great publicity surrounded the event, as Ben Ainslie opened the exhibition. Another highlight was a feature on BBC Breakfast Business News. News correspondent Steph McGovern, a former engineering apprentice for Black & Decker, presented her slot live from the Education and Development Zone at the exhibition on day 2. One of the key features of MACH 2018 from previous years, was the Education and Development Zone. This attracted a stream of young people of both genders throughout the week, but especially on the Friday, which was the day designated to focus on careers.

For Kanya UK, we demonstrated our electric height adjustable workbench example at stand H30-838 and came armed with samples and accessories for our visitors to tinker with.

It was good to see some of our clients also exhibiting at the event. Fanuc, in particular, were demonstrating a robot enclosure, constructed using the Kanya aluminium build system (see photo below).

So thank you to all those who visited our stand last week. And if we haven’t got in touch with you yet, please bear with us, we will be!

Last week, our colleagues from Kanya Switzerland made a welcome visit to our factory. Unfortunately, the weather was not as welcoming to our visitors as our team here. With heavy downpours, it was a typical English day, as we headed towards the long Easter weekend break.

As well as bringing with them some exciting new developments to the Kanya range, including the new box lifter brochure, we discovered that the brand new Kanya brochure was also on it’s way, ahead of the Mach Show the following week. It was also a great opportunity to meet Kanya’s new Marketing representative, Kunsang Chopathar, who accompanied Kanya’s Managing Director Patrik Muller and President Andre Muller on the visit (see photo).

A kind gesture of Swiss chocolate was also well received, and donated to the Easter raffle which was held during their visit.

For a copy of any of our new brochures, download them here, or get in touch and we’ll send you a copy.

Our spring newsletter 2018 is now available to download.

In this newsletter, we feature a case study example featuring roof top tent innovations.

We also highlight the latest projects being assembled in our factory, with a busy spring in progress, there’s lots to talk about.

Introducing once again, the latest resources now available from Kanya are the brand new ErgoPlace brochure available to download from our website.

We’ll also be giving out these brochures and demonstrating our workbench solution at the Mach Exhibition from the 9th to the 13th April. See us at stand H20-838 for the five day event, with our sales specialists available to illustrate the many possibilities offered by the Kanya aluminium profile system.

Kanya UK are excited to announce that the new Ergoplace brochure is now available.

The brochure illustrates how Kanya can create an efficient working solution with its ergonomic workbenches, ideal for assembly and production lines.

Height adjustment, lighting and work surfaces are all considered when creating a productive workbench, and with the Kanya system, fully customised solutions are encouraged, in addition to standard versions which are available.

The workbenches are modular and flexible and offer a range of accessories to create further space savings.

Accessories include:

  • The Klink is a tray suspension system for storage of tools  and creates order and efficiency.
  • Shelving, cabinets, document holders and equipment holders can be provided.
  • Connection for power, data and compressed air can be provided on the desk space to aid workflow.
  • Crate lifting devices
  • Material shuttles

Kanya UK are pleased to announce that they are to exhibit at Mach Exhibition 2018.

Held from the 9th – 13th April at the NEC in Birmingham, Kanya UK will be taking up stand H20-838 at the show.

The exhibition, held every two years, is the UK’s premier manufacturing technologies event, dealing specifically with engineering based manufacturing. As well as bringing together the best innovations and developments to come from UK manufacturing sectors, it is also a great chance to network with over 600 companies exhibiting there.

This will be Kanya UK’s first time exhibiting at this event, and the Kanya Sales Specialists are primed and ready to meet over 25,000 expected visitors to the show.

At the stand, H20-838, they will be demonstrating a large range of Kanya aluminium profiles and accessories, as well as the connector system which ensures the Kanya elements join together with ease. Some example applications will also be on display to illustrate the types of projects the Kanya application can be used for. A lab car example shows how test rigs can be built using the build system. This is a perfect illustration of an application, and relevant following last weeks’ publicity surrounding Riversimple’s hydrogen fuel cell car which Kanya UK provided test rigs for.

Also on display will be an example of a workbench which is electrically height adjustable and can be customised to suit the workflow required.

The Kanya Product Specialists will be available throughout the 5 day event to offer advice on your application and the services that Kanya UK can provide.

See us at stand H20-838. For more information about the event, please visit the Mach Exhibition website

This week, we were delighted to receive photos of a recently completed project from a client, which proved “Kanya Camper?…yes we can!”

The project was for iKamper, an innovative company specialising in roof top tents, who aim to bring the freedom of travelling and the outdoors into our lives.  Their requirement was for a framework built from Kanya aluminium profiles to fit inside a trailer. The framework is designed to take the loading of their roof top tent as well as the campers sleeping within.

The roof top tent innovation, called Skycamp, is usually fixed to the roof of a vehicle, however with the trailer addition, more campers can be accommodated…and quickly too, as the roof top tent can be set up in less than 1 minute.

iKamper are exhibiting this latest innovation at this weeks’ Camping and Caravan Show at the NEC (see photo below).

We look forward to finding out how the trailer tent went down with visitors…just another application idea from Kanya UK!
